The Miami Songwriter Collective (MSC) is a weekly, community-based project founded in 2024 to enrich Miami’s music scene. Open to artists of all levels, MSC offers a collaborative space where members can improve their songwriting craft and gain insight into the professional side of music. Through a partnership with Volume.com, MSC is free for all participants, allowing independent artists to connect, share work, and livestream performances without paying dues.

Since its launch in September, MSC has been a creative hub for eight core artists and an open-door community of highly motivated participants. Each week, members gather to share new songs and receive feedback, with opportunities for co-writing and themed compositions. MSC also hosts workshops that cover practical music industry topics like livestreaming, merchandising, publishing rights, and distribution strategies, aiming to help Miami’s artists thrive as professionals.

The year’s efforts will culminate in a live and livestreamed showcase on December 14th, held at a central Miami venue, where MSC artists will perform for a wider audience. In the meantime, MSC has two major online hubs - Instagram (@miamisongwriter), where a new “Artist of the Week” is featured along with updates, blog posts, and music highlights. Each featured artist also appears on MSC’s video-hosted podcast on Volume.com. 

Looking ahead, MSC plans to expand with satellite shows across South Florida and a dedicated outreach opportunity for high school students through Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Through these initiatives, MSC is building a lasting platform for Miami’s songwriters, helping them grow creatively and connect with a broader community.
